It is quickly approaching!!!!

Weather is never typical in good 'Ol Missouri. There were some wonderfully cool days thrown in the midst of total heat!  But this week I actually have the air turned off and the windows open. The breeze that flows through feels so nice.

For those of you who love Halloween, it is time to start preparing. Dragging those boxes out, seeing what you have, what you still need to get. Making props. Or just buying some. Do you have a home haunt display? Or do you have a big party? Unfortunately in my neighborhood, less and less people seem to be decorating for Halloween and handing out candy. I love seeing everyone dressed up, giving them a good scare or two. I wish more people participated.

All of the pumpkin patches will be open for business soon. Who can pass up a good wagon ride to the field tom pick out pumpkins!

Feel free to share you pictures of your haunt or costumes! I would love to see them.

One more day and it is the weekend!!!!!

Hi everyone!

So it is 'hump' day already. Hopefully it will be the weekend before we know it!

Last night my boyfriend and our two 15 year olds went on a really fun adventure here in St. Louis. If you are looking for something fun and unique please consider checking this out!

David, from Riordan Tours took them on the Haunted History Tour. He takes you on a stroll that starts at the Morgan Street Brewery and will lead you to the Arch.

More than a haunting, it was a fabulous history lesson. Some stories maybe familiar but others will be new to you. The Exorcism that became so infamous, Cholera epidemic, etc. It is an hour and a half of interesting stories and sites.

Check out their website to schedule your today! www.riordantours.com

Ozarkland

Happy Monday!!!!!

Did you all have a good weekend? What did you do for fun?

I took an unplanned, last minute trip to Columbia, MO. On the way home I stopped by Ozarkland gift shop off of highway 70. Talk about a must see place!!!!! I only know of this location and there is one at Lake Ozarks also.

You walk into this throwback general store kind of feel. It is packed with all kinds of eye candy! Where else can you find the funniest hillbilly souvenirs? Tons of t shirts, shot glasses and moccasins. Homemade fudge that melts in your mouth. There are rows of Elvis, Marilyn Monroe and Betty Boop trinkets.

This is a definite 'must stop' on your next road trip if you come across one. It will not disappoint!

What unique stores/shops have you come across in your travels?

Farmers' Markets

Hi everyone! It is a new week, ready for some new opportunities.

Everyone loves some fresh fruit and vegetables. Or maybe some fresh milk? Great smelling chemical free soap? How about heading to your local farmers' market this upcoming week/weekend?

There are so many in Missouri. You can Google search for your area if you are not aware of any.

In Franklin County there are 6 that I know of. There is one in each of the following towns: Labadie, New Haven, St. Clair, Sullivan, Union and Washington.  New Haven, Union and Washington are open during the week and on the weekend. The rest are Saturday only.

I attend the one in St. Clair. There is a farm located in Lonedell, MO that I love. http://www.doublediamondddairy.com/

They have fresh goats milk and cows milk. Wonderful chemical free soap. The best tasting cheese made right there. Deb is a super friendly gal, always available for your order. If you are n the Lonedell area please check them out.

Do you have any Farmers' Markets you love? What are your best finds there? I'd love to  hear about it!

Have a great week and consider visiting your local markets and supporting our local farmers!

Zombie Run

Today's weather has proven to be a lot nicer than the rest of the week has been! The City Garden is full of people bringing their children to enjoy all the water features.

The weekend is fast approaching. Have you made any plans yet? If not perhaps consider the Zombie Run. This has already taken place in many other cities but it is now St. Louis's turn! I am going to try to go watch and take some photos, no promises.

For the details please go to www.thezombierun.com and click on St. Louis. I personally think it wuld be more fun to be a zombie.

Let me know if you go and what you thought of it!
